The 11-acre property was purchased by a partnership of Summit Development and Greenfield Partners in 2003 from its previous occupant, Handy & Harman, which utilized the property as a precious metal manufacturing and recycling plant. The site underwent five years of environmental remediation. The site is pre-leased to Whole Food and CVS.
In March 2007, Summit Development announced the signing of a 25-year lease agreement with Whole Foods which will anchor the center with a 50,000 sf supermarket. In January 2009, Summit Development signed a 25-year lease agreement with CVS which will occupy a 12,960 sf store. There remains 23,000 sf of in-line retail space for lease. Completion of Kings Crossing is scheduled for Fall 2010.
